Common
Sense
In 1776, Thomas Payne wrote a pamphlet called
common sense that fueled the idea of American Independence which gave rise to
the American Revolution. He gave hope while painting a direction and a vision to
guide the course of this new nation, the United States of America. It is time to
renew the aspiration of Thomas Pain and the founding fathers to allow our nation
to fulfill its promise. I will make an attempt to pick up where Thomas left off
in 1776.
The American people are supposed to be in
charge, but we are not. We are supposed to be in control, but we are not. There
are things that our government has done in the name of the American people which
make us responsible, but we are not. Then are we really worthy to be what it is
we hold to be sacred -- “Americans”.
The root of the message conveyed by Thomas Pain
is the same; government of the people, by the people and for the people. These
were high expectations that we have never met, but we have strived to achieve to
the best of our abilities. Today we have the technologies to meet the original
and correct expectations of the founding fathers; True government by the people
is here and possible. We are the first to have a real choice unlike our
ancestors who had to settle for less. We don't have to settle and we certainly
don't have to live like this anymore.
What does Government of the people, by the
people and for the people really mean? Let me start out by explaining what it
has become. Of course you are well aware of these facts so just bare with me.
Thomas was more concerned with emancipating the people from a monarchy or a
tyrant to use his favorite word. In our day, our government, business and the
bankers have become the tyrants. Unfortunately, we reinforce and perpetuate
their bad behavior by doing exactly nothing about it. Our government is not a
Democracy; it is a republic. It is government by proxy or middle men. Anywhere
that government can install more middle men, it will and it has. The middle men
are a guarantee that the will of the people, the wealth of the people, and best
interest of the people will never be served. In the past we had no choice. Now
we have a choice. No, that is wrong. We have no choice but to be rid of the
middlemen.
Who are the middlemen? Let's see, every time you
here about privatizing government functions or anything else, you are
introducing a middle man. Many things are just not meant to be owned, things
like: air, water, the Internet, money, the national and global production and
distribution systems, ideas, knowledge, technology, human or animal genome and
DNA. At one time we even convinced ourselves that it was ok to own other human
beings. This arcane thirst for control and exploitation is tearing our nation
and the world apart. It has taken us from slavery to serfdom, feudalism,
mercantilism, capitalism and now we are back to slavery. We literally prey on
one another.

We are no longer who we used to be or what we
use to be. We are in a transition phase, stuck half way between two worlds that
are literally ripping us apart. At this very point in time man is without
definition. He knows not where he stands, nor where he is headed.
We need a new vision and direction for our
country and our world. Welcome to the NeXus, our pathway to a new and better
future. We will need two new branches of government. We will have to eliminate
the corruption of money from our government completely.
A new branch of Government (The
Fifth Branch)
How can we redefine ourselves and reclaim our
sanity and free existence. First we must take back our government and that which
belongs to no one and everyone. We have the technology to build an over arching
new branch of government that supersedes all other branches. This branch will
become the new executive branch. The old executive branch will become the
administrative branch. The Internet will allow us (the people) to control,
monitor and directly intercede or override any function or operation that the
people deem unnecessary and in real time not years or decades. The stakes are
too high. There will be no higher authority to assert themselves over the will
of the people. No longer will the people be forced to fight wars they don't want
to fight. No longer will the people be ignored by government or business because
the people or the true government and masters of themselves.
A second new branch of
Government (The Fourth Branch)
The fourth branch will be driven by technology
and technologist. The people will need access to real information based on
facts, figures, reason and most importantly science. The new technology branch
will guide technology policy and direction for rebuilding our country on a sound
technical footing and science. There is no place for politics in science.

Without a fourth branch the people can never
realize their true wealth because it will always get plundered and wasted by
middle men. Our technology is worth more than you can know. It is worth more
than all the wealth, gold, silver and platinum on this planet and yet we give it
away to be wasted along with the resources that it controls and utilizes.
The fourth and fifth branches should
be located outside of Washington D.C.
in two separate states, preferably in the middle of the country, with
only a small presence in D.C. This is a measure to totally isolate the fourth
and fifth branch from the others, in order to ensure complete separation and no
commingling.
The fourth branch is so important because it is
the only way to manage the distribution of power and resources more evenly. It
will give us greater flexibility at handling crises of any nature with relative
ease, because we are not so centralized and inflexible. Our government and
society will be the first that is truly based on technology and not manipulated
by it. This technological basis will allow us to adjust the level of coupling
and cohesion between the states. This will give the United States the ability to
grow like a virus when the time comes and the time will come as I will explain
in chapter 14.

nothing new except the technology to implement our new world. We know
to move forward we will have to find a
way to do it together. As it is now, we are moving nowhere because we are
working against ourselves. We have to learn how to become one again.
Thousands of years ago man was one.
We started out on one continent and spread all over the world. This Migration
caused us to loose continuity. We where no longer one, we became many.
Unfortunately, we live in a closed environment of finite resources. We can no
longer behave as many or else all of us will suffer. Technology has provided us
a way forward. The Internet connects us all. That means we are all connected
again but we are not one yet. Our ability to harness the stored potential of the
Internet will bring the human back to the status of being one. In the United
States, we will have to lead. In the United States we will no longer act as a
bunch of individuals. We will act and govern ourselves not with leaders and
representatives but as one collective. We will learn, grow, make mistakes and
triumph as a collective. If anyone thinks we can continue our present course in
an adversarial fashion, then common sense is not with you.

Do not let yourselves be convinced by fools that
the masses or too ignorant to rule themselves. It is true, we or ignorant of
many things, but self rule is not one of them. Yes, the people (the collective)
will make mistakes. We will learn, grow, make mistakes and triumph as a
collective. A collective is much smarter than a few people, a king, a queen, a
president or a dictator. A collective takes its best thoughts and puts them to
work. Connecting the human race efficiently with the Internet is like a super
computer with human minds for CPU's. A super computer is just a bunch of
computer chips connected to together. The human race will become its own higher
form of a super computer. This means that things are going to change a little
faster but under our control to the best interest of all.
You should ask yourself, why did our government
run up such huge debt in what was suppose to be a relatively good economy. It's
because it was a lie. We have used every means to prop up our bankrupt economic
system and nothing has worked. Common sense should tell us that a change is
definitely in store.
I don't recall the people of the United States
signing a death pact with capitalism. “Shall death do us part” is nowhere to be
found in the constitution. In America, the worship of capitalism has become
religion. We adhere to it blindly as we make our next sacrifice to the market
god. You are the sacrifice. We are sacrificing our future and the future of our
kids. The market god will take sacrificial victims from every strata of our
society.
We ignore the smartest among us at our own
peril. When scientists say our planet is in crises, it is probably a good idea
to pay a bit more attention as it is the only planet we have.
What we need is real fundamental change. We are
in yet another crisis brought on by technology and our broken economic system.
Unfortunately, we are ruled by politicians who only treat the symptoms and not
the root causes. They will throw money at the problem and then tax you to death.
The problems will only come back again and again and much worse than before.
We have become a dependent nation. We don't make
things for ourselves and we have to depend on foreigners like china to lend us
money. How can this be in a nation that is so rich in natural resources,
technology and wealth? It is because our house is not in order. And soon, we may
be without a house.
You are probably thinking in order to solve
these problems, that we are going to have to work harder, longer and retire
later. This is wrong thinking. To succeed we will have to be smart enough not to
continue as we have in the past. We will have to do the exact opposite. We will
have to work much less and retire earlier. Sorry to disappoint those
workaholics, but there is a new slave in town. Computers, robots and technology
are the new slaves; we can not compete. Common sense should tell us to get out
of the way or we will get run over. That's what's happening to our work force.
They are getting run over, and over and over again.
You have to treat business and government like
the dogs they are. The problem is that they are your dogs and you let them turn
on you. You will have to show them that you are the master. The only way to do
that is with technology.

Obviously our social development has not kept
pace with our technological development. You don't put government or business in
charge of a technological society. That is suicide.
For hundreds of years or more, politicians,
dictators and monarchs have made promises of a better life if we just put our
faith and trust in them. They have all failed to deliver and in most cases they
have made things much worse. The people who are most responsible for easing the
burdens of mankind are the inventors, scientist and engineers. They have no need
for talk and fiery speeches because they have no need to lead or control anyone.
There is no time for it. They are the thinkers and creators. They are the only
people that can show you the way. If it is salvation that you seek in this life
time, I suggest you seek them out.
They are the only people that can set you free. The time of the politicians and
dictators has come and gone; their message has not changed for thousands of
years. This means they have no new answers. Scientist and engineers are not big
on talking, but you can see their work everywhere: in the skyscrapers, planes,
trains, electricity, nuclear and solar power, computers etc.
So what do you expect when you turn over control
of your most important resources? You have only but to take back what is
rightfully yours.
We don't have to wait for hundreds
years. We don't have that much time.
The march towards Emancipation
Your freedom has already been fought for and
won. We only have to reassert ourselves and reclaim the power that we the people
loaned to the government. It is time to revoke this power with a
Declaration of Dissolution and Termination.
It is up to “we the people” to change our
direction in order to restore our democracy, rule of law and self respect. We
have to emancipate ourselves from our old ideas, notions, government, business
and yes - the bankers.
