Every 1 to 3 years will bring a considerable increase in internet functionality not stagnation.

The dot com bust revealed surprising short comings and limitations of web technology. As interesting and exciting as the web has been, it doesn't even touch the surface of the enormous potential stored in the internet, but look at the enormous impact it has had.
